When you go from having your identity in what the world says to having your identity in God, everything changes. Most importantly you can know that you have value and purpose because He says so!

WHY AM I HERE?

- IS THERE A GOD?
- WAS I MADE FOR A PURPOSE?
- AM I LOVED?
WHAT THE WORLD SAYS YOUR VALUE AND PURPOSE COME FROM
- WHAT YOU DO.
- YOUR GENDER.
- YOUR LOOKS.
- YOUR ATHLETICISM.
- YOUR POPULARITY, STATUS, YOUR FOLLOWERS.
- YOUR EDUCATION, GPA, DEGREE.
- YOUR CAREER.
- WHAT YOUR PARENTS, FRIENDS OR OTHERS SAY.
- WHAT YOU CAN PRODUCE OR CONTRIBUTE TO SOCIETY.
WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS
- YOU’RE MADE IN HIS IMAGE. YOU ARE NOT AN ACCIDENT.
- YOU’RE HIS CROWNING CREATION, HIS BEST.
- YOU’RE HIS CHILD, HIS SON OR DAUGHTER.
- HE THOUGHT ABOUT YOU AND HAD A PLAN FOR YOU BEFORE YOU WERE BORN.
- YOU MATTER BECAUSE GOD MADE YOU, LOVES YOU, AND HAS A PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE.
WHAT THE OLD TESTAMENT SAYS
- WE ARE MADE IN GOD’S IMAGE – GENESIS 1:26
- GOD BREATHED LIFE INTO US… GENESIS 2:7
- BEFORE WE WERE FORMED IN THE WOMB, HE KNEW US… JEREMIAH 1:5
- THE PLANS HE HAS FOR US ARE TO GIVE US A FUTURE AND A HOPE… JEREMIAH 29:11
- THE LORD OUR GOD IS WITH US, HE IS THE MIGHTY WARRIOR WHO SAVES. HE TAKES GREAT DELIGHT IN US… ZEPHANIAH 3:17
WHAT THE NEW TESTAMENT SAYS
- OUR HAIRS ARE NUMBERED (HE KNOWS EVERY DETAIL)… LUKE 12:7
- JESUS CAME THAT WE WOULD HAVE LIFE THAT IS ABUNDANT AND FULL… JOHN 10:10
- FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY SON, THAT WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT PERISH BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE. JOHN 3:16
- GOD IS LOVE… 1 JOHN 4:16
- GOD DOESN’T WANT ANYONE TO PERISH… 2 PETER 3:9
- THIS IS LOVE: NOT THAT WE LOVED GOD, BUT THAT HE LOVED US AND SENT HIS SON… 1 JOHN 4:10
TRUTH
- JESUS SAID “YOU SHALL KNOW THE TRUTH AND THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE…” JOHN 8:32
- JESUS SAID “I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE…” JOHN 14:6
THERE’S A PROBLEM – THE BIBLE CALLS IT SIN
- ALL HAVE SINNED… ROMANS 3:23
- THE WAGES OF SIN ARE DEATH. NOT JUST HERE ON EARTH BUT FOR ETERNITY. ROMANS 6:23

Or did you think that because he’s such a nice God, he’d let you off the hook? Better think this one through from the beginning. God is kind, but he’s not soft. In kindness he takes us firmly by the hand and leads us into a radical life-change.

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
